Please find the British Canoe Union Guidance on Swimming Pools and Canoeing by clicking on more.

In Summary it suggests that staff are qualified to a minimum of level 1 coach for taster sessions, and level 2 coach for a series of lessons.

To get your staff qualified in house to level one coach they first need to do a two star personal performance award and the Foundation safety and rescue training award followed by the four day Level one UKCC coach award. 7 or eight days training in total.

A level two coach should be in overall charge of level one coaches, we can fulfill this role as technical advisers, or if you have a keen canoeist on the staff they could train to the Level two UKCC coach level.

Many pools employ local freelance coaches or keen coaches from local canoe clubs who already have the qualifications.

We can provide these courses, either here in North Wales or Local to you.

Please let me know if you need any clarification or a quotation for training.
