Both the training and assessment are two day courses. This is again discipline specific. The aim of this award to train and then show that a paddler is now a competent leader.

A successful performance at this level shows that the paddler can lead a group of competent paddlers on river trips on grade 2 and on open water with winds up to force 4. This award is designed for the paddler to show their techniques for moving and exposed water, requiring them to use this skills in a real situation.

This course is aimed at applying the above skills in a leadership context looking at correct ways to lead a group on either moving or open water utilizing correct leading styles and communication and rescue skills.
