This course is the progression from the BCU level 1 coach course. If you are looking to progress your standard of coaching then this is the course for you.

As a level 2 coach you can work alone on sheltered waters. This like the level 1 award is a non-discipline specific award.

This course develops the foundations skills that have been taught on the level 1 course and is a 4 day course.

After this 4 day training course you have a period of 12 months to do your assessment.

The level 2 training course can also be run in a variety of formats we recommend a four day block but there are other options :-

-         We can run it over two weekends -         We can run it as 4 separate days-         If you have another format you would like let us know

Pre-Requisites

Before this course you need to have passed the following which we can provide.

-         Level one coach award

-         BCU UKCC 3 Star in one discipline and 3 star standard in another discipline, we recommend this is in Kayak and Canoe because this is what you will be assessed on.

-         8 hour First Aid, we recommend the 16 hour first aid course as once you have passed this award you will be in an outdoor environment

-         You have to be 1 minimum of 17 years old for the training and over 18 for your assessment.

You need to register with the BCU using a CR form and receive your log book so you can bring it with you. You also need to be a BCU comprehensive member.
