A five-day course put together for people who'd like an all-round introduction to Kayaking, suitable for beginners and those with some kayaking experience.  You'll paddle on rivers and lakes, and even learn the basics of Eskimo rolling.  Throughout the course the emphasis will always be on learning new skills under the instruction of our expert coaches.  Learn to paddle in all conditions, and how to keep out of trouble and rescue others.  the course will include the content of the white water kayaking weekend course and some river trips.  This course varies a lot depending on water conditions and the participants' needs, but we guarantee a lot of kayaking. and a lot of learning.  The course is run by our in-house Level 3 and Level 4 Kayak Coaches, who will cover a selection of skills from the BCU 1, 2, 3 and 4 star qualifications, with optional assessments where relevant.

Your Course

The ultimate White Water Kayaking 5-day course is defined by you.  The aim of the course is to give you 5 days of solid paddling.  Depending on your starting point, we will work on the relevant skills to move you on in the sport, improve your knowledge, skills and technique to enable you to move towards your own personal goal.  We can paddle on lakes and gentle rivers, take in a variety of white water river trips, and find play spots.  So whether you want a week-long intro to moving water, or you want to start to rip up the play spots, this course is for you!

The course will be tailored to the participants needs, depending on your personal standard.

What to bring

We provide kayaks, paddles, wetsuits, buoyancy aids, spray jackets and helmets.

You need to bring swimwear and a towel, and a couple of old pairs of trainers you don’t mind getting wet. If you already own suitable paddling clothing – a dry-cag or wetsuit boots, for example – or your own equipment, please feel free to bring it, as it’s always nicer to use your own familiar kit. If you are bringing your own kayak your instructor will need to check it is suitable to use for the types of paddling you will be doing. A large towel is useful, as you may want something to change under on the riverside.

Come prepared for the best and the worst of weather; remember sun cream in summer
